Here's David Sinclair who founded back in 1964, on the proverbial "shoe string" , what is today's' huge "model cars by mail" industry. There were ony three brands of die casts available in the USA then. Dave searched all over Europe and found models made in Italy, France, Denmark and elsewhere that were made more for the adult collector, rather than as "toys".
